With its oral history project, Spoken Treasures, the African American Heritage Museum of Wilmington has created an archive of interviews with African Americans who give us insight into discrimination, segregation, and integration in the Lower Cape Fear Region. The five individuals spoke of their childhoods, parents, schooling, careers, the Civil Rights Movement, youth today, and the future for African Americans. These excerpts are just a few minutes of hours of interviews in the collection.
